My exposure to counseling began as a young child getting to know my school counselor. She instilled hope in kids each and every day. She provided a safe and nurturing environment where kids could be kids. The valuable lessons she taught are still with me today.

After graduating from a small town, south of San Antonio, I attended Texas A&M University in College Station. I majored in Interdisciplinary Studies which lead me to teaching 1st graders and PK-6th grade English As a Second Language students in several school districts across Texas.

While being an educator was near and dear to my heart, I knew that I was ready to continue my education in Counseling. I attended Wayland Baptist University where I received my Masters in Counseling. I completed an internship working for the SCUCISD Family Support Center where I worked with children, teens, families, and marriages.
While completing my masters degree, I had the opportunity to travel abroad with Focus on the Family to educate counselors on counseling techniques. I also had the opportunity to present at the annual Texas Counseling Association conference on Mind Mapping.
After 15 years in education, and 7 of those as a school counselor, I loved getting to support students, families, and staff. I targeted the whole child, not only academically but socially and emotionally as well.
Being able to offer counseling services to individuals, couples, and families in a private practice setting has allowed me to help others on a whole new level. Something I am passionate about. I am currently trained in Brainspotting Level 2 and Gottman Marriage/Couples Counseling Level 3.

I praise you for considering this journey and I look forward to providing you with a safe and caring environment where you can flourish, find solutions, discover peace, and live in balance as an individual, couple, or family.

I am a caring professional therapist with a background in counseling and have fourteen years of experience. I have worked with individuals of all ages, ranging from 3 to 70. I have practiced individual and group counseling with a focus on families. I use a holistic approach to counseling, focusing on the mind, body, and spirit.
I work with children and adults. I provide a safe place where it is confidential to work out problems individually or as a family.
I am a great listener, patient, positive, and kind. I feel that humor is an important aspect in everyday life.
I can provide therapy that customizes what you need, offer support, guidance and confidentiality.
I feel counseling is a collaboration relationship between patient and counselor. I feel a counselor acts as a guide for the individual and facilitates change. I like to help people progress in their journey to healing. I enjoy helping people grow and develop into their full potential.
More about me: I like to read, play with my dogs, spend time with my family, and watch Netflix.
Favorite Quote: "God grants me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

My passion is working with teens, adults, couples, groups, and family therapy. I offer in office, telehealth, daytime, and afternoon counseling.
I am a great listener, patient, highly empathetic, love personal development, and enjoy watching others grow and thrive.
My approach to counseling is rooted in the work of Carl Rogers. I firmly believe that the most important aspects of counseling are the therapeutic relationship, listening without judgment, showing unconditional positive regard, and remaining empathetic. My goal is to help clients gain greater self-awareness, learn healthy coping skills, and thrive in all aspects of their lives.
I can provide therapy that is empowering, individualized, and focused on the whole person. I believe that we must work to address all areas of need in our lives to be a whole, complete person.
I feel counseling is an opportunity to delve into self-awareness and optimistic thinking. It is a space to explore your innermost thoughts and feelings without judgment.
More about me: I love to read, write, play with my kids, spend time with my family, and work on being the healthiest version of myself.

Hi! My name is Carlos. I appreciate the seriousness of this step you are taking in finding help and meaning. Opening up to share your vulnerabilities and hopes should not be taken lightly. I'm a firm believer of the individual’s ability for change. Furthermore, I believe that a strong professional relationship between the client and counselor is key to therapeutic success, and that this relationship is best fostered through an atmosphere of professionalism, trust, collaboration, and respect.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Army veteran whose professional therapeutic experience has centered on working with traumatized adults and children of all ages and their families. Primarily within judicial and community organizations, I have worked with clients living with depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, domestic violence, familial conflict, childhood behavioral challenges, and environmental hardships.
I work with individuals, couples, and families of all ages and backgrounds. I enjoy connecting, and helping others help themselves.
In having worked as an early childhood therapist and within assisted living facilities I have gained a great appreciation for how our experiences impact onto the quality of our lives. The past is important in understanding why we are in our present condition, as well as our strengths and weaknesses. Knowing this can help support you in building a plan for the future.
I can provide therapy that helps one to understand how thinking and feeling impacts onto his or her quality of life. Once this can be identified, I want to further collaborate with the client towards testing reality in gaining the changes necessary for more resilient living.
I feel counseling is another platform for gaining self-awareness and perspective on the world and others. I do not think of myself as having the answers for others. I think of myself as having the professional training and permission to help others clarify what it is they want and need.
More about me: I have been with my wife for 27 interesting years and we are going strong. We have two children that we enjoy. The military has been a way of life for us. I enjoy spending time with my family outdoors and completing home projects.

As a clinician, I feel it is important to help my client see that our time together is a stepping stone to discovering ways to continue moving forward in a positive direction and reveal new parts of ourselves that we may not have found without help.
I am great at listening, helping, and advocating for the rights of others to live comfortably in their lives and heal from the external judgements that use to confine them.
More about me: When I am not at work, I am usually in a gym with one of my children cheering them on at one of their various sporting events or spending time with my family. I love to travel, watch a great series with my husband, or read an exciting thriller.

I provide a safe and judgment free space for all; regardless of age or background. I want to learn about each person and individual goals so that I may help empower them to overcome potential obstacles to those goals.
I believe that healthy communication and a growth mindset can benefit each of us on a daily basis. I enjoy getting to know each person as a unique person in order to develop a better understanding of how best to support their growth. 3 words that describe me:
-
Butterfly: Although change can sometimes be difficult, there can be greater rewards waiting for us on the other side. Like a butterfly, we go through changes and evolve as individuals to become our best selves. I like to meet people where they are in that process of change and empower them to work through the difficulties which may present themselves along the way. I’ve also been labeled as a social butterfly because I enjoy talking to people and learning their stories.
-
Zen: As a yoga teacher I have experienced and taught the importance of mindfulness and being present. The yoga practice greatly emphasizes a strong mind-body connection, and this is something I have experienced personally and professionally. I’ve had the honor of teaching yoga to people of all ages and abilities, and love how inclusive and universal mindfulness is.

Inquisitive : I am a curious individual for sure! After working in education for over 20 years, I have found that I have an insatiable love of learning. I love to learn about different evidence based counseling methods which work to help various individuals as they work through challenges. I am always excited about meeting new people and learning about their lives while empowering them to lead more balanced lives.
A little more about me: I have a daughter in medical school and two doberman pinchers that are much like children. As an Air Force veteran I had the honor of serving our country before moving into education where I have directly worked with children as young as kindergarten and as old as seniors in high school. Traveling, learning about other cultures, and being outdoors are things I love to do in my spare time. While I love to spend time with friends and family I have a wide variety of interests. You can find me curled up in bed with a good book or skydiving with my daughter, depending on the weather.
